1359 – 1362
The Red Turban invasions of Goryeo occurred in the 14th century, when the Red Turban Army (In Korean history they are recorded as the Honggeonjeok, a peasant rebel force that arose in the Zhejiang area region against the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty. One branch of this movement advanced through northern China and Liaodong and invaded the Korean Peninsula twice, in 1359 and 1361.
1359 – 1360
The Red Turbans went on to seize Seogyeong (Pyongyang), Goryeo's western capital. In early 1360 Goryeo forces counterattacked, retook the city and drove the invaders back across the Yalu with heavy losses.

In the winter of 1359 about 40,000 Red Turbans, pushed out of northern China by Yuan forces, crossed the frozen Yalu River into Goryeo, took Uiju and went on to capture Jeongju and Inju.
